Using a simple hose rack can help keep your hose in better shape and keep your yard looking nice. Many people simply leave hoses lying outside, or roll them up on the lawn or in the driveway. There are however, some great options for hose storage.
Using a hose rack has several advantages over the other common haphazard methods. Let’s look at some of the advantages a hose rack provides over simply rolling up this important yard and garden tool or simply leaving it lying around.
A garden hose rack usually attaches to the side of your house, or a similar garden hose stand has a self supporting structure (sometimes with wheels) around which a hose can be neatly rolled. This is fairly obvious but it bears repeating. If you leave a hose lying on the ground, people can easily step on it. This can cause wear on it which can lead to damaging the fitting at the end, or creating kinks that damage both the exterior and the interior of it.

A water hose that is rolled up and stored neatly is easier to use. You can unroll as much of the hose as you need which can help avoid tangles and lugging around more length than you need. If you have the rolling hose rack, or hose cart, you can unspool it on an as-needed basis and wheel the hose rack around for better handling.

If you use the hose for washing your car or washing other items you can leave your stainless steel sprayer attached when you coil your hose on the hose holder. This way it ready to use for your next job. Some garden hose hangers even have a small storage compartment to keep hose attachments clean and handy. If you don’t have other patio storage boxes this can come in especially handy.
Consider these advantages and you’ll see that a garden hose hanger provides an easy and organized way to store your hose. It will promote the longevity, cleanliness, and usability of this important yard and garden item.
